Фотография кыргызской девочки в горах Памира в Афганистане попала в книгу самых популярных фотографий журнала National Geographic.

Работа фотографа журнала Мэтью Поли (Matthieu Paley) в очередной раз была опубликована на официальной странице журнала в Instagram с комментариями самого автора.

«Рад быть частью новой книги, которая составлена из самых популярных фотографий странички @natgeo в Instagram... Марбет — 7-летняя кыргызская девочка. Она сидела передо мной, вечерний свет из соседнего окна падал на ее лицо. Ее щеки красные от холода», - пишет автор.

Фотография была сделана зимой в горах Памира в Афганистане несколько лет назад, где Мэтью Поли побывал по заданию National Geographic.

Here is one of my images featured in that book. It was shot in winter in Afghanistan’s Pamir mountains. Marbet, a 7-year old Kyrgyz girl just returned from gathering her yak herd. She sat in front of me, the evening light from a nearby window falling softly on her face. Her cheeks are red from the bitter cold. I shot this image using film and a medium format camera, a way of photographing that requires a slow pace. I had to wait 2 weeks (the time it took me to return home), before I could see that image and share it. It’s fascinating how the result of an analog process can end up in a book about an “instant" social media tool that wouldn’t have existed without the digital revolution...
